Turntable re:mix - April 27th to May 1st

Futuresonic04 celebrates 25 years of the Technics SL-1200MK2 turntable with a series of club and music events featuring pioneers of turntable music. The Technics record deck is one of the iconic cultural objects of the twentieth century. In marking its 25th anniversary Futuresonic04 widens the frame to explore the past and future of the DJ - with performance using early recording technologies such as Phono Fiddles and 78 cutting machines and artists detonating the art of playback by DJing with cutting edge touch sensitive Kaoss pads, Theremins and laser harps.

Sirconical (UK) performs live with his band comprising of DJ Woody (ITC World Scratch Champion/UK), Carl Sharrocks (drums/UK) and Chris McGrath (bass/UK) to mark the launch of his debut LP 'Waving at Planes' released on Manchester's Twisted Nerve. Once the scourge of the live artist, the DJ is now an integral part of many live acts, and Sirconical, an extremely talented drum-programmer, combines live drums, bass and DJ to instil his electronic music with a multi-layered hip-hop aesthetic. With Twisted Nerve head honcho Andy Votel (UK) in support.
