A very special, intimate performance by one of the world's most influential musicians, Philip Glass, a world premier of a major new commission by Mexican electronic pioneer Murcof and AntiVJ, a highly anticipated UK performance from Icelandic composer Johann Johannsson, LA's lo-fi outsider pop phenomenon Ariel Pink, and the legendary NYC based hip-hop crew Anti-Pop Consortium. Plus Kode 9, for many the UK's hottest DJ, headlining a showcase of UK bass music, and the finger-picking prowess of guitarist Marnie Stern, hailed as 2009's most exciting rock act by New York Times.

Futuresonic will take over the finest venues in Manchester, including the RNCM, the Deaf Institute and Urbis, for a celebration of musicianship and a salute to those who perform on the cutting-edge.
