It is an exciting time for music production and live performance; huge leaps have been made over the last few years with numerous companies bringing ground breaking products and technology to DJ and producers fingertips. The Livetek event will showcase the pioneering technology that has, and will, shape the future of DJ and live performance techniques.
Taking inspiration from events such as Miami Winter Music Conference, NAMM and the Amsterdam Dance Event, the public have the opportunity to be shown exactly what new technology is on offer and, fundamentally, how it could translate to their own creative projects...
Master-Classes (1pm - 2pm) @ Walrus: The first part of the EVNT runs in the afternoon with exclusive master-classes featuring leading artists and industry certified professionals demonstrating the potential of innovative new products such as Ableton Live 8 + Akai APC40, Serato Visual Scratch + Vestax Controller One, offering up tips, tricks and proven techniques.
Live on Live (9pm - 2am) @ Walrus: The evening session will feature exclusive showcases from these artists utilising the technology to its full potential in a live environment, with amazing sound, lighting and club production.
Atomic Hooligan: Following the release of "Sex Drugs and Blah Blah Blah", which saw Atomic Hooligan touring with a 10 piece band 2009 commences with tours of USA and Canada. The release of their latest single accompanies a new, streamlined 3 man live show and download album forthcoming in March. Atomic Hooligan will be discussing how he integrates Ableton Live into a band performance during the afternoon master-class. In the evening session he will be performing a live show of past, present and future Atomic Hooligan releases, remixes and bootlegs, exclusively performed on Ableton Live.
DJ Woody: His reputation as a pioneer scratch artist, combining music and technology, has seen him develop Serato Visual Scratch and his own custom-designed Vestax Controller One. 2009 sweeps DJ Woody and a 20 piece orchestra off on a World Tour with Mala Rodriguez, followed with a new mix CD out in March.
Woody will be demonstrating Serato Visual Scratch + Vestax Controller One during the afternoon workshop, followed in the evening by an eclectic, party rocking set featuring many of his Ableton Live produced re-edits / remixes which make his sets so unique.
