Mr and Mr Haxan Sean Vinylment and Miles Whittaker invite their friends
Murmur and Bovill, from electronic label Meanwhile, and DFA's latest
wunderkind Capracara along for a day-full of the occasionally obscure, the
frequently interesting, and the always thoroughly listenable.
Capracara is Jonathan Burnip who as well as an imminent
release on DFA, which follows his previous two singles on Soul Jazz, has
remixed for the likes of Matt Edward's Rekids label and Kill The DJ. He is also one half of Tiger Timing, contributing to the esoteric disco label
History Clock, and his latest project is Churchill's Leopards with Joel
Martin of Quiet Village.
David Togher and Graeme White are Murmur and
Robert Lawrence is Bovill. They set up the UK based Meanwhile label in 2004
with the intent of releasing authentic and forward thinking electronic
music. In the time since it has grown into a fully formed and highly respected outlet for deep electronic music with a roster of international artists. Between the three of them their DJ sets spanning
two decades of Detroit flavours, ‘real' house music and the sounds of
Berlin past and present.
