Extra Life LIVE / Icy Demons LIVE / Deaf to Van Goghs Ear LIVE / Bring on the Dancing Horses DJs

Led by the critically acclaimed Brooklyn based five piece Extra Life and featuring experimental Chicago rockers Icy Demons this event is an aural feast for fans of avant rock and indie music. The heavyweight headliners have recently created a stir and thrill around the crushing pressure of their groundbreaking and immense live performances, welding math rock complexity with operatic vocal stunts, while Chicagoan seven piece Icy Demons imagine colourful indie rock reminiscent of Frank Zappa or Can. Manchester's own Deaf To Van Goghs Ear complete an intense and exciting lineup.

Extra Life

Born in the crucible of Brooklyn's notoriously wild and multi-faceted music scene, Extra Life is the new project fronted by guitarist, vocalist and composer Charlie Looker. The intricate complexity of their sound is anchored by a level of bone crushing intensity worthy of early Swans, but with an urgency and focused precision that manages to combine medieval vocal music with dark romantic pop and modern composition. Core member Charlie Looker has previously collaborated with an enviable list of New York's finest, including John Zorn, Glenn Branca and Dirty Projectors. This will be an ear opening experience for even the most dilated listeners.

Icy Demons

Chicago's Icy Demons is an experimental project started by Bablicon's Griffin Rodriguez and Man Man / Need New Body's Christopher Powell. Featuring a rotating lineup of various Chicago based musicians their music has been likened to that of the Canterbury scene's Soft Machine, or the abstracted structures and colourful melodic patterns of fusioneers Frank Zappa or Can. The band are also heavily involved with the massively respected Obey Your Brain label which recently released acclaimed albums from Beirut and Count Bass D.
