EVNTS: EVNTS 2009 Meeting

EVNTS Meeting
6pm, Wednesday 11 March
Mod Pop Cafe

We are hosting a meeting of events organisers and artist groups prior to EVNTS 2009 at Futuresonic 2009 Urban Festival of Art, Music and Ideas.   Feedback has led to plans to build on the success of previous years by staging meetings for the EVNTS community to meet and connect with the Futuresonic team and with each other.

We would like to invite all those who are staging an EVNT at this years festival to drop by and talk to members of the Futuresonic team to discuss ideas, share concerns and gain support and advice if needed.

EVNTS organisers are also invited to feed into research FutureEverything is taking about the use of social media and mobile technologies at events. From 2010 we will be staging experiments looking at how to use new technologies to enhance the experience of event attenders and organisers. You are invited to help shape this project and with hope to enable you to share in the benefits next year. Many of us already use social networking tools such as Facebook and Myspace for promotion and there are many other platforms that can build audience and make sales. With your help we will be building on this knowledge to make future projects more successful, sustainable and popular.

EVNTS aims to provide a solid platform of support to individuals, promoters, artists and groups wishing to get involved in Futuresonic by staging an EVNT. This invite is also open to those who wish to stage an EVNT in the future.

The meeting will be held at 6.00pm on Wednesday 11th March at Mod Pop Cafe (previously Cafe Pop in the Northern Quarter) where any artists or promoters who will be, or are interested in, staging an EVNT in the future can come and meet the Futuresonic team to gain advice and support.
