Disco Outcasts

FREE

A fresh combination of quirky basement and sleazy disco sounds headed up by DJ Ray Mang and a live set from The Project Club (aka Mr Lee and Slim). Expect italo, cosmic weirdness, afro and boogie as they all come together courtesy of main operators Stefano and Leo, the Disco Outcasts.

Ray Mang: Ray Mang is the DJ alter ego of writer/producer Raj Gupta. The moniker was introduced as a vehicle for creating, releasing and spinning anything goes disco-centric party music for collectors, dancers, enthusiasts and jocks alike. Taking inspiration from the extended disco mixes, dub versions and edits of such luminaries as Larry Levan, Walter Gibbons, Daniele Baldelli, Began Cekic and the open-minded music policies of some of the pioneering early clubs such as the Paradise Garage, the Loft and the Italian Cosmic parties, Ray Mang set out to help keep the glitter ball shimmering and the disco flame burning into the new millennium!

Mr Lee: Steve Lee started his music career 21 years ago and performing regularly across London and the UK. In the early days, Steve entered into the field of digital mastering, re-mastering and classical editing. It was here he cut his teeth with both analogue and digital formats - using an early pro-tools system, a DAT player, a Studer quarter inch tape machine and a couple of early Macs. In 2001, he moved away from the mastering studio into film production working for Universal Studios, Dreamworks, BBC and later as a Senior Producer. However, Steve got bored of his so-called career and decided to quit. He turned his back on the film industry in 2007 with a clear aim to get back into music production.

Slim: Slim is one of the good guys. Not driven by money, but by musical passion. A good guy oozing with natural talent who never reveals his cards, but always has something special to offer. Slim has produced numerous solo indie projects, singers and songwriters.

Stefano: Stef is a legend of the Manchester music scene. As a producer he has had releases on Rob Gretton's Pleasure Records, Yeti, News, Schtum, before beingsigned to the Creation label. As a DJ Stefano has done it all. He began his career in the early 1990s as part of the MVITASoundsystem, promoters of legendary warehouse parties in Manchester and the North West of England. During the heady days of acid house, Stefano supported The Stone Roses at Spike Island alongside Paul Oakenfold and has toured as support for bands such as Happy Mondays, 808 State, Oasis and Run DMC.

Leo: Leo is making waves as one of the hottest talents on the circuit, boasting a record collection as diverse as those twice his age. His sound, technical ability and youthful charm have impressed many a veteran, turning the heads of local heroes and forming a unique allegiance with Stefano as the Disco Outcasts.
