Futuresonic

A swarm of more than five thousand insects will weave a trail through the gallery, each one machine cut and hand folded from the pages of discarded magazines and leaflets. The pages are chosen for their specific colour and detail and the cutting process results in random colouring that makes each small insect unique and individual.

Biography

Rob Bailey is a Manchester based artist and graduate from Manchester Metropolitan University. In 2007 he was shortlisted for Urbis' Best of Manchester awards and in 2008 staged his first solo exhibition 'Hello World'. Following the success of this show he was invited to be artist in residence at Rogue Artists Studio Project Space and more recently has exhibited in the group show 'The Intertwining Line' at the Cornerhouse.
