Thomson & Craighead
Signals

Realtime recordings of people aimlessly using a mouse are layered on top of each other and divorced from their original context. Mouse cursor icons endlessly flicker across the screen, the icons seemingly having a personality as if they were the people themselves, a 'crowd scene' where the trace takes on the life of the people hidden from view. Part of Thomson & Craighead's The Social Networking Suite, a collection of three artworks developed for Futuresonic 2008.
