Digger Barley

A mass urban gardening project with a difference: take a pack of barley seeds around Manchester and spread them to sow the seeds of revolution. In the UK's most revolutionary moment in 1649, radical groups called the Diggers took over areas of waste and common land. They planted vegetables and barley, and the effects of this movement exist in populations of plants whose seeds continue to spread. Digger Barley is a distribution of seeds harvested from those places today. Collect seeds to distribute at Cube, Contact and ThePublicSpace (during opening times).
